Playa Samara

Wrote this somewhere around the end of July, but just saw that I never posted it
Location: Playa Samara, province of Guanacaste, on the Nicoya Peninsula on the Northwest coast of Costa Rica
Job: Hostel work at Camp Supertramp
Duration: 18 July-10 August

Greetings from Samara!
We are almost three weeks into our stay here at Camp Supertramp in Samara in the Gunacaste Province on the Nicoya Peninsula (Pacific Coast).  This is another hostel job at a small hostel about 10 min walk from town.  And we are in LOVE with it!  It is a small beach town with a lot of surfers, a large ex-pat and ex-people-who-used-to-live-in-western-Europe (is there a short hand for that?) community, and a bit touristy but still not crazy.  The locals who live here are by far the kindest community as a whole that I've seen yet in Central America.  Nearly everyone you pass on the roads greets you with a smile and "buenas".  The beach is a five minute walk away and is gorgeous.    The managers, Amanda and Eefje, are two friends from Holland who now live here and there are two other volunteers, one from Alaska and one from England.  Working here is a dream.  It's is low season so the hostel is not very busy, which means more deep cleaning and such.  Skylar and I have been able to go surfing nearly every morning and even for a second sesh in the afternoon sometimes!  Favorite beach location so far (only rivaled by our first farm in the heart of the jungle).  It will be hard to leave this one.
